Seafood Works, Sans Souci NSW

Every time its a nice sunny day and when I’m craving fish and chips we always end up going to Seafood Works. Since we’ve visited this place we haven’t been anywhere else. There’s so many seafood/fish and chips shops in this area, particularly on Princes Highway which claim to have the best ‘fish and chips’ but I can tell you that I’ve been to 80% of them and they are all just disappointing with false claims! Of course we’ve never been back and after we found this place would never dream of going anywhere else. Seafood Works have great fish and chips, they taste fresh and not dirty i.e their oil just tastes clean. If you’ve had bad fish and chips you would know what I mean! Sure its fried but I don’t feel bad when eating it!

Despite visiting many times, I’ve realised I’ve never taken any photos! They have a fresh side selling fresh seafood, because of this you can always choose your own fillet and have them cooked for you at market price!

They have a great seating area with a long bench and stools along their windows which open out on the street. We love sitting here. It’s nice and bright, they also provide you with newspapers – what more could you ask? Their interior is amazing, not your typical old fish and chip shop. Definitely designed by a designer; great fitout! 

Prices are so reasonable as well. Yes, can you tell I can’t stop raving about this place?

Me and S always get something different each. Their servings are huge, we always wonder why we order two portions but just can’t help it each time as we love variety! This time we shared a grilled fish and chips with salad (he chose greek), and the standard fish and chips – with extras! Their potato scallops are hand cut with a good batter – not overly thick. The potatos are still soft on the inside just how I like mine! I have a weird habit of eating the outter crunchy batter before eating the soft innards :)

Apologise for the lack of photos! Quite ashamed of myself actually as I love this place! Will definitely update once I go back, perhaps this weekend?

They’ve been voted as second best fish and chips by The Daily Telegraph and I think they definitely deserve it. Great quality food with comfortable and clean sitting area. There’s plenty of street parking however they do have a small parking lot for customers at the back. Their menu is up online so check out their reasonable (cheap I say) pricing!

Note: Just found the interior designer is Stacey Kouros, she has some interior shots in her portfolio so perhaps head there to get a feel of the shop – I’d rather not link her photos!
